Eidos 0.14.0
This is an older release. The latest is 0.18.0. See what’s new in 0.18.0
Track what your documents are made of, see who wrote them, and pull the way you choose
Records, Metrics, and Authorship join the plugins, eidos check runs in every merge request, Pull merges or rebases and settles conflicts in the app, and a blueprint now opens in the live editor, formatted as you type.
Release highlights
- Records: Track the pieces your documents are made of, like acceptance criteria, test cases, or characters, each labelled in sequence, with a table per type, statuses, and a person's sign-off.
- Reading time and Metrics: Every blueprint shows how long it takes to read, and Metrics holds it to a budget and points out filler, repeats, and near copies.
- Authorship: See how much of a blueprint an agent wrote that no person has reviewed yet, section by section, and mark it reviewed.
- The check in every merge request:
eidos ci --write githubor--write gitlabadds a job that runseidos checkon each merge request, with findings shown against their files. - Pull your way, and read any commit: Pull's menu offers merge, fast-forward only, or rebase, your pick kept; conflicts are settled in the app, by hand or with the AI Agent, and a click on a commit opens its files and their diffs.
- Start a root from nothing:
eidos install --blankand the desktop app's Start from nothing make a root with the Eidos core alone, to shape as you go.

Changed
A blueprint opens in Edit
Blueprints, tasks, and decisions open in the live editor; Reading and Source are still a click away, and a Default view preference of Reading keeps it.
⌘-click follows a link in the editor
A plain click edits where you click, and ⌘-click (Ctrl-click off a Mac) follows the link.
eidos linter fails on drift
It exits 1 when files have drifted, so CI and hooks can gate on it; a script that expected 0 now fails.
Decisions are moving to Records
Decisions run on the Records engine as the decision record type, and the Decisions plugin is deprecated as of the next release; everything works as before in this one. Decisions →
Fixed
Markdown drawn as GitHub and Obsidian draw it
Hand-written images, alerts, footnotes, reference links, and plain links to assets now show and work in the reader and the editor.
New Root in a vault
An empty folder becomes the root itself, and a folder that already holds a vault gets the root in a new folder inside it, nothing in the vault written over.
Known limitations
⌘-click on a link inside the block being edited does not follow it yet; click outside the block first. The desktop app's New Root installs a Registry framework with kebab-case naming unless you change it.
