Is it really free?
Yes. The app, the CLI, and every plugin are free for personal and commercial work. No account, no trial, and nothing held back.
Who needs a seat?
Only someone who edits online, past the free plan. Your account covers you and two other editors. Viewers, commenters, and agents never need a seat, and Eidos has no AI model to pay for: it runs the agent you already use.
What happens when the trial ends?
Add a card to keep your seat. Do nothing and you’re back on the free plan. Nothing is deleted.
What happens at a limit?
Nothing is locked or deleted. Edits past your free editors wait on your machine until you have a seat. A project out of storage still syncs its text, and only new files wait.
How does self-hosting work?
Run the sync service on your own server, free for up to three editors. From the fourth editor, a licence covers every editor at the price of a seat. Self-hosting is early. Read the guide, or write to support@eidosmd.com about a licence by agreement.
Are my files on your servers?
Only the projects you put online. Everything else stays on your machine, and a self-hosted server keeps it all on yours. Privacy.
